fraser island

What you'll need

4wd vehicles, camping equipment, snorkelling gear.

Fraser Island a world heritage protected paradise which is truly magical. From the crystal clear Lake Mckenzie, the gleaming Champagne Pools straight off the beach front and tranquil rain forests. There is so much to explore on this amazing island! Sitting just 3hrs north of brisbane, Fraser Island is the world’s largest sandbank. Stretching over 120kms and offering sweeping views of the coast and is home to inlets, rain forests and iconic Aussie wildlife like Dingoes and Humpback Whales. Is there a better place to spend a few days with the Konnekted crew!!!

This trip is more of a two night experience due to the amount of time it takes to reach your destination and the sheer size of Fraser. It would be best to take a day off work “cough cough” and truly get all that Fraser has to offer. Alternatively leave friday afternoon and stay over night in rainbow beach to get an early start on Fraser saturday morning and return sunday night.

There are some cost involved but with konnekted help it will only cost a fraction of what you would pay to see it all on a guided tour.

After arriving in rainbow beach you will need to put the Konnekted 4wd on a barge to start your Fraser trip. The barge is only a short 10 min trip and cost $120 return including all passengers it operates from daily from 6am to 5pm. See link below for more info.

You will need to arrange vehicle access permits $48(valid 30 days) and camping permits $6 per person per night. See link below.

Estimated total cost per person for the whole trip should come under $100. To do a similar self drive trip via an agency starts at $450 and that departs from rainbow beach.

Don’t forget to make a bigger group just post event on our facebook wall.

We recommend only attempting this trip if you have done a double island trip first due to the amount of difficult beach driving involved.
