Peel island is about 4km off shore from Cleveland point kayak ramp. This should take between 45 -90 min each way depending on your fitness levels.
Once you get there chill out at the beautiful horseshoe bay before continuing to the western end of the bay where you will find a shipwreck and platypus bay. You can snorkel anywhere around the island but best viewing is around the wreck and platypus bay.
If your feeling energetic you can continue on to north Stradbroke another 30 min past the ship wreck. there you will find a local convenience/takeaway stores.
If you really want to get away and chill for longer there is very basic camping available on the island but make sure you bring enough supplies as the only facility is a toilet with no drinking water.
Most people see dolphins up close on this trip and maybe a turtle or ray.
Fairly easy day out of the city that does not involve much planning.
